Sunday November 22, 2020 at 12:30 p.m.

The 18th Strictly Come Dancing series is underway and one of the celebrities returning to the dance floor this weekend is Ranvir Singh of Good Morning Britain

The TV presenter made a sparkling return to form in week five after a slight disappointment last week, her Argentine tango sending her second in the Strictly Come Dancing chart

Ranvir and his professional dance partner Giovanni danced to When Doves Cry by Prince, and the judges of Strictly Come Dancing were very positive about the performance, awarding him 27 points – including a perfect 10 from Anton du Beke

The popular presenter has also publicly stated that the “very intimate” dances “took a bit of getting used to” – claiming that she was initially rather embarrassed to perform some of the routines

Ranvir is one of ITV’s most recognized presenters, not only regularly on Good Morning Britain, but also as a back-up newsreader on ITV News and as a presenter for ITV’s Tonight

In addition, she has hosted a series of factual prime-time shows including Real Stories with Ranvir Singh, The Martin Lewis Money Show and Eat, Shop, Save while she recently appeared as a member. of the panel on Loose Women

She is the latest in a long line of Good Morning Britain presenters to appear on the series, following the lead of colleagues such as Susanna Reid and Richard Arnold – whom she says she turns to for advice

Ranvir’s Strictly journey got off to a good start when she scored 21 points in Week 1 for her Paso Doble to End Of Time by Beyoncé, and 21 again with Stevie’s Quickstep to You Are The Sunshine Of My Life Wonder the next week

The reporter also received a fairly high score for her Foxtrot to Love You I Do by Dreamgirls during Movie Week

Unfortunately, however, Ranvir’s Cha Cha in Week 4 just couldn’t keep up with her Foxtrot, knocking her down, but she was back in shape by Week 5, scoring 27 points for her Americamn. Tango becomes second in the ranking

The presenter had previously been warned by her GMB co-stars about the harshness of the competition, especially Susanna Reid

Speaking to the press, including RadioTimescom, Ranvir said: “Susanna keeps telling me in a really sane tone: ‘Ranvir, you have no idea what’s going to happen” She is like, “You have no idea and it’s like a whirlwind ”

She said: “The initial feeling of being confirmed for Strictly is one of utter terror – it feels like you’re going on a roller coaster, where you really want to do it but you’re just as scared.I hope after the first dance I will feel more elated than sick! Referring to her colleagues who have been to the Strictly dance floor before, she added: “I’m going to have to choose your brain I’m worried about energy levels” I’ve been working through the pandemic, so i think i should have all the answers “
