After six weeks away, Georgia are back between the hurdles The Bulldogs last played a home game on October 10 and by the end of that game they had a debut perfect year Now Kirby Smart’s team have two losses and are looking to get back to the winning column against Mississippi State (7:30 pm ET on the SEC network)

Visiting Bulldogs face fair share of injuries and lineup issues According to Robbie Faulk of Gene’s Page, Mississippi State will only have 49 scholarship recipients for the game It has been ravaged by churns, transfers, injuries and COVID-19 issues Mike Leach’s team deserves a lot of credit for their desire to hollow out and compete after postponing Auburn last week

In fact, both teams are coming out of a postponement, with Georgia to do the same with Missouri after COVID issues in that program. However, it hasn’t done much for either. other team in terms of healing Both are pretty beaten

Georgia is on the safe side and that’s quite shocking considering how many players were injured in the win over Kentucky and the loss to Florida Below, Dawgs247 gives a full overview of the injury situation UGA as he seeks his fifth win of the season

When the freshman caught a 32-yard touchdown against Florida two weeks ago, it should have been a game he would always remember for the right reasons. Instead, he will remember it probably, at least in part, for the wrong reasons As he was about to cross the goal line, Rosemy-Jacksaint was hit in the lower leg and suffered a dislocated ankle He was operated on two days later and is out for the remainder of the 2020 season He got his second start in as many games against the Gators but the Bulldogs will be without him for the rest of the time

This one has been known for some time Ringo underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum before preseason camp started and it’s a procedure that will knock him out all season long The 6-foot-2, 205-pound defenseman was the nation’s No 1 cornerback in the 2020 class and had to come in and challenge playing time right away either at the cornerback or the STAR / nickel position Losing him hurts the game. UGA depth in post no doubt, but he wasn’t supposed to start or play a huge role at the start of the season The Bulldogs fire three cornerbacks who have at least 11 starts under their belt and two defensemen who have a lot of experience in the subset

This is another injury that has been known for some time Blaylock injured the ACL at preseason camp and it is the same knee he injured in the game of SEC championship 2019 The sophomore was working to regain his full strength when the injury occurred, but he will now miss the entire 2020 season It’s a big blow to UGA’s passing game because he was one of the few proven pass catchers to return but, based on what we’ve been able to muster, the Bulldogs will be heavily dependent on Kearis Jackson and Demetris Robertson in the Jackson slot got off to a great start with 21 catches for 323 yards and one touchdown in four games Jermaine Burton has the skills to do it but has settled into the flanker role as a starter

The senior playmaker was involved in a car crash after the team returned to Athens after the Kentucky game LeCounte was riding an off-road motorcycle and two other cars were involved He is fortunate the result was not more serious as he ended up with a concussion and rib injuries He spent some time in the hospital, but was released within a week and returned to the Georgia practice center to be there cared for He announced via Twitter this week that he plans to return to the pitch as soon as he is healthy. LeCounte is a UGA high school turnover machine, intercepting eight assists in his last 21 games dating back to the 2018 SEC Championship game. He has three interceptions and one fumble this year to go with 26 total tackles Chris Smith will get the nod in his place

The past two years have been tough for the McEachern High School product He suffered an ACL injury at the end of the 2018 season and had surgery to repair it in the winter It limited him last year and he saw some action in just four games while also taking on a red shirt that he and the staff agreed to before the year. He was back at full strength to start this season but suffered another ACL tear against Kentucky Rochester appeared in 51 games as a Bulldog but finished for the remainder of the season Due to COVID-19 , this season will not count against his eligibility and he could return for a sixth in 2021 if he wishes

Mammoth nose tackle to miss second game in a row with elbow injury Based on everything we’ve heard from practice, he’s still focused on keeping fit, but he’s doesn’t have a lot of fieldwork Davis suffered an elbow injury against Kentucky and Smart insisted he had a chance to play against Florida He did not make the trip and therefore was not available to play The extra week at the heel hasn’t changed with regards to this game as it is unlikely to make a comeback It is very possible that it will be back at some point before all UGA regular season games have been played

The impressive first-year running back started hitting his stride when he injured his knee during the game in Florida Milton pulled off an 18-yard run against the Gators and was injured in the very end when he was tackled awkwardly At 6ft 2225 pounds he showed excellent power and balance He also runs with great vision and finishes each carry picking up an extra yard The most impressive part of his game is perhaps how quickly he has fixed some trial and error issues at the start of the year Smart says he will miss a few weeks with the injury

The second from Homerville, Ga. played in all 14 games a year ago but has been out for the last few weeks It has recently become clear why he missed the last few games Marshall has been suffering from a shoulder injury since the start of the season and that’s the one that ultimately required surgery He had the operation this week to fix a torn labrum and will be missing the rest of the year He is not part of the inside linebacker rotation of Georgia, but he’s been a key part of special teams since his first varsity game He is expected to make a full recovery and defy snaps in 2021

The 6-foot-5 speedster had already suffered injuries this preseason and a sports hernia kept him from spending most of the 2019 campaign He recently hit another streak of bad luck when he was hit by a car in what was reported as a hit and run The good news is that Bush will be fine in time and there have been no serious injuries The bad news is that Smart says he has suffered a concussion and these injuries are healing at their own pace We are ranking him as doubtful as we don’t know for sure but he hasn’t dressed since the car accident

The second-year running back injured his knee in Alabama after just two runs and a kickoff return He did not return to the game and Smart’s exact words were that McIntosh had “hit His knee After taking the week off to heal he began to dress and come back but still hasn’t seen the pitch since the injury Smart recently said he suffered from a knee injury and some hamstring strain He wore a red jersey on the weekend in training and that bodes well for his chances of playing UGA needs him available as Kendall Milton is out for the next few weeks with a sprained knee

It’s been a couple of weeks up and down for the star receiver He was limited in practice before the Kentucky game and ultimately never made the trip He was limited to start preparations for Florida, but ultimately did put on a red jersey and started to work Something happened later in the week and he didn’t end up making the trip to Florida Smart called it an upper limb injury and said Pickens was going to have to deal with his pain threshold Dawgs247 a learned Pickens had practically practiced since the first practice after the game in Florida He should be ready to go

The senior tackle machine has been gutting him recently He has played three games with a sprained foot, an injury that has plagued him in the past He started against Alabama and played a ton against Kentucky, especially when Quay Walker had to quit He also started against Florida and had eight tackles in total He’s still not 100%, but Smart reported earlier this week that Rice is mainly training from Monday to Wednesday to be able to play on Saturday Smart also noted that based on the NFL scouts he spoke with, Rice’s tenacity is something that NFL teams are noticing.

Cine was stoned recently, but all signs are that he’s ready to roll for this one He suffered a sprained ankle against Kentucky and had to quit that game He returned for the game in Florida but suffered a concussion on a game which also kicked him out for targeting Smart said Cine was in concussion protocol the following week, but he has since cleared said protocol He’s been practicing fully this week and is expected to team up with Christopher Smith as Georgia’s starting safety Cine is one of the Bulldogs’ safest tackles and heaviest hitters

He might not see the pitch but it won’t be because of his health Smith traveled for the game in Florida after practicing almost fully at the end of the week Since then he’s been in full swing and gets reps with No 2 and no 3 infractions in practice It will be interesting to see how quickly Todd Monken gets him involved because he has a game-changing speed He is probably the fastest player on the team and Georgia need receivers to step up at this point in the season due to injuries He’s probably not ready for a spot in the rotation, but he might have a set of games that he can help out

The Crisp County High School product was propelled into a bigger role when Monty Rice started dealing with the foot injury He didn’t start against Alabama but he played more shots than he did. habit He started the following week at Kentucky, but suffered an undisclosed injury later in that game He did not return and spent the first three training sessions the following week in a black non-contact jersey while getting plenty of first-team reps He played against the Gators in a more limited role and the week off due to the postponement of the Missouri game probably helped him heal a bit He should be able to go against the state of Mississippi
