Edward Norton put the cards on the table – he hates what President Donald Trump is doing by refusing to concede the election

In a tweet rant on Friday, the 51-year-old actor and filmmaker used gaming metaphors to describe his outrage Norton was part of the cast with Matt Damon in the 1998 cult classic Rounders, which explored the sub high stakes poker floor A “rounder” is a person who travels from city to city in search of such games

Norton started on Twitter noting that he was “not an expert in politics,” but claimed that his father’s work as a federal prosecutor and that his own poker background gave him a better understanding what he thought Trump was doing

“I don’t think Trump is trying to ‘make his base happy’ or ‘lay the foundation for his own network’ or that ‘chaos is what he loves’,” Norton tweeted “The main thing is that he knows he is in deep and multidimensional legal danger, which defines each of his actions”

That debut turned into a string of slurs in which the mouth-rimming Norton called Trump a “gangster” and a “bully,” ending by calling the president a “little whiny, sulky, petulant, grumpy and vindictive 10-ply-super-soft b—- who, without a doubt, is just throwing a nasty pouting party & trying to give the whole country a middle finger for sheer spite, without a single thought for the dead & dying “

The presidential election will not be officially certified until the electoral college meets in December 14 Several recent contests have extended the duration of the concession, most notably Al Gore-George Bush Jr in 2000, when the debate over ‘chads suspended “Resulted in the final decision until a Supreme Court ruling on the 12th

I am not a political expert but I grew up with my father who was federal prosecutor & he taught me a lot & I also played a lot of poker with serious players & I will say this: I do not don’t think Trump is trying to “make his base happy” or “lay the foundation for his own network” …

… or that “chaos is what he loves” The heart of it is that he knows that he is in deep and multidimensional legal danger & this defines each of his actions We are witnessing 1) a tactical delay of the transition to save time for concealment & removal of evidence 2) above all, a desperate endgame

… which is to create enough chaos & anxiety about the peaceful transfer of power, & afraid of irreparable damage to the system, that he may strike a Nixon-style deal in exchange for finally conceding But he did not the cards His bluff after the “flop” was called in court…

His “turn card” bluff will be escalating & his “River card” bluff could be really ugly But they have to be called out We can’t let this gangster bully the US into a deal to save his ass by threatening our democracy It’s his room But he has garbage in his hand So call him

I’ll admit he’s also a super sweet whining, pouting, petulant, cranky, vindictive 10-fold super sweet little slut who no doubt throws a wicked pouting & party trying to give a little finger of the middle to the whole country for sheer spite, without a single thought for the dying & dead

But his despicable, treacherous and seditious assault on the stability of our political pact is not about 2024, personal enrichment or anything other than trying to use the threat of & chaos against the foundation of the system as leverage to trade against a safe exit Call His Bluffer

Faith in the strength of our sacred institutions The founding principles of & is in great demand… but they will hold They will He leaves, without grace & in infamy But if we trade against this, grant him a negotiated settlement, we will be vulnerable on his return We can’t flinch
